Korea¡¯s Mental Health Act was completely revised on 30 May 2017, to narrow down the definition of severe mental health disorder, improve the admission and discharge system of medical institutions and such. Because of the changed procedures of the admission and discharge system were described in the Mental Health Act, it has received a lot of social attention and began to be an issue. Then, relevant organizations started to announce the various position on changes after the Mental Health Act was enforced. In previous studies related to policy (or law) evaluation, two years of time series data before and after the start of a specific policy are often confirmed but there was no research on the Mental Health Act in this regard. Therefore, this study is attempted to understand the effect of the implementation of Mental Health Act through time series data for a total of five years.
